  • I have sensitive skin – what kind of metal do you use in your jewelry?

All our jewelry is hung on pure .925 sterling silver or 14k gold-fill earwires or chains. We want to make sure your sensitive skin is happy, so only the best of the best for y’all while also maintaining a reasonable price point!

  • I noticed you use 14k gold-fill in the gold jewelry. What is that and how is it different from gold-plated, gold vermeil or solid gold jewelry?

Gold-fill is an industry standard that legally requires 1/20th pure gold content, or 5% pure gold, by weight. The making of gold-fill is a tightly regulated process that involves pressure bonding multiple layers of solid 14k gold with extreme heat on top of high quality jeweler's brass. This intense process results in a durable, quality product that has the look and feel of pure gold and lasts almost as long.

Gold-plated or gold vermeil jewelry, by contrast is one layer of gold on top of some other metal, could be brass, silver, stainless steel, etc. Gold vermeil is ALWAYS plated on top of sterling silver, so over time the plating will wear off and you’ll be left with silver jewelry. Generally speaking, gold-fill has 100 times MORE gold than gold-plated jewelry. Because the layer of gold is so thick, gold-fill stands up to normal wear and tear significantly longer than gold-plated.

  • Will my jewelry tarnish? How do I clean it?

Your gold-fill jewelry will never tarnish, but sterling silver will as soon as it is exposed to oxygen and naturally occurring oils your body (every day!) Tarnishing is completely normal but it is easy to clean and maintain your silver pieces for a lifetime. To clean your tarnished silver, use warm water, gentle dish soap and a cloth or soft, old toothbrush. Alternatively, you can make a paste with a little baking soda and water, gently rub the metal with a soft cloth, and rinse with water. Be sure to thoroughly dry your jewelry after cleaning with a soft cloth before you put it away.

  • How do I clean my accessories and home decor pieces if they get dirty?

If the resin in your jewelry or accessories, don’t fret! You can easily clean the resin by using a soft cloth and warm water to clean and restore shine. Be sure to thoroughly dry the resin after cleaning with a soft cloth.

  • Can I wear my jewelry or accessories swimming or in the shower?

Since chlorine, hardwater, salt-water and body lotions can take their toll on fine metals and resin, we recommend that you remove your SunRae Studio pieces before swimming or showering.

  • Will the flowers in my pieces stay the same colour or will they fade?

That depends! Some plants may fade over time but we use a UV resistant-resin to try and limit fading. We also recommend that you store your pieces away from direct heat and sunlight to avoid fading. Many white, blue, purple and yellow flowers retain their colour extremely well so we often try to use those colours in our pieces.

  • Why does my piece look slightly different than the pictures on your website?

Great question! Due to the handcrafted nature of our jewelry and accessories, each piece is unique and cannot be 100% duplicated. There may be slight imperfection in the pieces, such as tiny air bubbles in the resin or slight imperfections in the plants. This is natural and can occur as part of the process. We do the best to ensure each piece is handcrafted with care so that you love your jewelry as much as we do.


  • Where do you ship from?

We are currently located in southern Ontario, Canada, about an hour outside of Toronto.

  • Do you ship internationally?

We do! We ship anywhere that Canada Post ships to. If you’re unsure if Canada Post ships to your country through an affiliated shipping provider, we recommend you check Canada Post’s website here to confirm and see if there are any restrictions.

  • When will my order ship after the order has been placed?

We try to process your orders within 2-4 business days after your order has been placed. This does not include weekends however sometimes we’re feeling generous and may work on your orders over the weekend!

  • How long will it take for my order to arrive?

If your order is shipped as standard lettermail in Canada (standard unless otherwise indicated), it may take up to two weeks (10-14 business days) to arrive. International orders shipped standard mail may take up to a month to arrive, although they typically arrive quicker than that! If you are within Canada and select Xpress shipping at checkout, your order should arrive within 2-6 business days. If your order does not arrive within the specific time frame, please shoot us an email and we’ll do our best to figure out what’s going on with your order.

  • How much does shipping cost?

Our standard shipping rate in Canada is $4 and Xpress shipping is $15. International shipping varies by country but ranges between $8 and $40.

  • Is there tracking included with my order?

Tracking is ONLY included if selected at checkout and is not included in standard shipped orders. Tracking comes at an additional cost so keep that in mind!

  • What if my order doesn’t arrive?

Please send us an email if your order does not arrive within the specific timeframe and we will do our best to find out what’s going on with your order.

  • Do you offer custom orders?

Yes, within reason. At this point in time, we are only offering custom orders with your own flowers and plants. If you have flowers from a wedding, memorial or other important event or place in your life, we are happy to preserve your flowers for you and turn them into keepsakes. We will provide all the info you need to send us and properly preserve your flowers. Please contact us by email with your ideas and we will do our best to accommodate you!

  • How do I ship you my flowers to you if I’m doing a custom order?

The best way to get your flowers to us as fresh as possible is to ship them or drop them off as soon as possible! If you are interested in doing a custom order with your flowers we can provide you instructions on how best to keep them fresh before you are able to send them to us. To get full instructions and inquire about a custom order, please send us an email.

  • Do you accept refunds or exchanges?

We do not accept returns, refunds or exchanges at this time. If there is a problem with your order, please notify us as soon as possible and we will do our best to remedy the situation and make sure you are happy with the outcome!

  • What if I want to cancel my order – do you accept cancellations?

We ONLY accept order cancellations within 48 hours of your order being placed. This is because we do our best to ship your order to you within 2-4 business days. If you wish to cancel an order after payment has been accepted, please contact SunRae Studio IMMEDIATELY. If an order is cancelled after it has been dispatched, the cost of the order and shipping charges will be the responsibility of the buyer and WILL NOT be refunded.

  • Do you offer local delivery or pick-up?

We sure do! Local pick-up is available at the “Shipping” stage of checkout. We are located in a small town in New Tecumseth, of South Simcoe County in Ontario.
